Sheffield United F.C. is a professional football club in Sheffield, England, that competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. The club was formed in 1889 as an offshoot of Sheffield United Cricket Club, and they first competed in the FA Cup in 1891. They were founding members of the Football League in 1892, and have spent most of their history in the top tier of English football. They are one of the oldest professional clubs in the world, and the oldest of the current Premier League clubs.

The club has won four League titles, three FA Cups, and one League Cup. They reached the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1993 and the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 2002. They currently play their home games at Bramall Lane, which is also home to Sheffield United's Women's Super League team and their academy.
