Queens Park Rangers Football Club, also known as QPR, is a professional football club based in White City, London, that plays in the Championship, the second tier of English football. The club was founded in 1886, when a group of schoolboys from Christ's Hospital in West London decided to form a team to play football against other schools in the area. The team soon began playing in local leagues, and in 1907 they reached the final of the FA Amateur Cup. They turned professional in 1919 and were elected to the Football League in 1920. They went on to win the League Cup in 1967 and were crowned champions of England in 1975. QPR have been relegated from the top flight of English football on multiple occasions, but they have always bounced back. The club is currently owned by a consortium of investors led by Malaysian businessman Terence Lewis.
