Burton Albion Football Club is an English professional football club based in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. The club competes in League One, the third tier of English football. Burton Albion were founded in 1950, and joined the Southern League in 1954. The club became members of the Northern Premier League in 1971, and were promoted to the Southern League Premier Division in 1984. Burton won the Southern League Premier Division title in 1998–99, and were promoted to the Conference. They were promoted to the Football League in 2009, and competed in League Two from 2009 to 2018. The club then achieved successive promotions to League One in 2018 and 2019. Burton Albion's home ground is the Pirelli Stadium, having moved from Eton Park in 2005.
