Luton Town F.C. is an English professional football club based in Luton, Bedfordshire. The club was founded in 1885, and played at a variety of grounds before moving to its current location at Kenilworth Road in 1905. The club spent a large part of its early history in the Southern League, winning the league title in 1920–21. Luton reached the First Division for the first time in 1955–56 and competed in it for four seasons, but were then relegated back to the Second Division. They reached the First Division again in 1981–82 and have since played mostly in the second tier of English football. The club was relegated to the third tier in 2009–10, and then again to the fourth tier in 2014–15.
