Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, London. Founded in 1905, the club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. Chelsea are the only London club to win the UEFA Champions League, one of four clubs to have won all three of UEFA's major club competitions, and the only English club to win the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.

Chelsea have had 28 managers since their foundation, eleven of whom have led the club to major honours. Chelsea's first ever manager was Scottish wing-half John Tait Robertson, who continued to play for the club until he resigned a year later. Frank Clark, who took over in 1978, is the club's longest-serving manager; he spent nine years at the club before being succeeded by Glenn Hoddle in 1987. Hoddle is also the club's most successful manager in terms of major honours won, having led Chelsea to the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.

José Mourinho is Chelsea's most successful manager in terms of trophies won, having won five major trophies during his first spell at the club. Mourinho then spent two seasons at Internazionale, before returning to Chelsea for a second spell.
