Doncaster Rovers Merchandise

The club was founded in 1879 and turned professional in 1885. They were one of the twelve founder members of the Football League in 1888. They achieved promotion to the First Division in 1903 but were relegated back to the Second Division in 1919. In 1949 they were relegated to the Third Division North where they remained until 1957. The following season they were promoted back to the Second Division. They remained in the Second Division until 1968 when they were once again relegated to the Third Division. They were promoted back to the Second Division in 1977 and achieved promotion to the First Division in 1983. They remained in the First Division until 1991 when they were relegated to the Second Division. In 2005 they were relegated to League One.
