Scunthorpe United Football Club is a professional football club in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England. The team play in League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system.
The club was formed in 1899, and turned professional in 1901. They were elected to the Football League in 1950, and have played in the second, third and fourth tiers of the league. They have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup twice, in 1955 and 1957. They were relegated from the third tier in 2009, and again in 2013.
