Preston North End Merchandise

Preston North End is an English football club based in Preston, Lancashire. The club currently plays in the EFL Championship, the second tier of the English football league system.

The club was founded in May 1880 as a cricket club and played their first competitive match in November 1880, when they entered the FA Cup. Preston won the cup in 1887–88, making them the first team to win the cup without conceding a goal. They were also the first team to win the double, by also winning the League.

Preston played a significant role in the development of professional football in England. In 1885, Preston were the first club to sign a professional player, and in 1888 they were the first to sign a footballer from Scotland.

Preston North End were a founding member of the Football League in 1888. They were also one of the 12 founder members of the Premier League in 1992.

The club has won three League titles, two FA Cups and three League Cups. Preston's most recent major trophy was the 2015–16 EFL League One title, which they won on the final day of the season.
